Moscow (Russia) – the first phase of the freestyle FIS world Cup in 2018 went on Saturday evening. Competition was held in the 47-metre-long scaffold ramp set up near the center of Moscow.
The eighth time round the World Cup visited Moscow and once again the local organizers(New Line and Federation of freestyle of Russia, FFR) held a unique event. With thousands of spectators celebrating Russia’s Christmas Eve and cheering for the best athletes in the world, when they performed their stunts, it was a really festive atmosphere. At the end of the show fans were waiting for the fireworks launched off the ramp.
The winner of Wednesday’s women’s competition was Kiley McKinnon(USA), which has passed through all of the qualifications and started in the 6th position, after the first attempt she was the head of the table and held a victory in the final jump.
Already a few podiums on her account. McKinnon finally reached the top of the podium of the World Cup, adding to the collection, which includes the 2015 aerials Crystal globe and the silver medal at the world Championships in Kreischberg, also in 2015.
The winner among men became the Olympic champion Sochi 2014 Anton Kushnir (BLR), who took advantage of the fact that Jia Zongyang and Qi Guangpu aka World Championship 2017/2018 the number one and two were absent in Russia. Kushnir won a great victory with an almost flawless final jump to return to the top of the football world Cup in style.
